Referee Lee Min-ho terminates the contract and stops referees Moon Seung-hoon and Choo Pyeong-ho

KBO has withdrawn from the controversy over covering up misjudgment.

KBO held a personnel committee meeting on April 19 and deliberated on disciplinary action against three judges who undermined league fairness through mistakes and inappropriate words and actions related to ABS decisions during the NC-Samsung game held at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 14th (Sunday).

The KBO terminated its contract with umpire Lee Min-ho, who was the team`s chief referee at the time. umpire Moon Seung-hoon was suspended for three months (unpaid), the maximum period stipulated by the rule, and announced additional personnel changes when the suspension ends. umpire Choo Pyong-ho was suspended for three months (unpaid).

KBO said, "We decided that the issue was very serious, so we held a personnel committee and confirmed the disciplinary action."

The incident occurred in the bottom of the third inning of the NC-Samsung game in Daegu on the 14th. With two outs and a first base on Samsung's attack, first baseman Kim Ji-chan tried to steal second base and became safe after video reading. At that time, ABS judged Lee Jae-hak's pitch as a strike on the second pitch, in which Kim Ji-chan tried to steal, but referee Moon Seung-hoon declared the ball.

NC`s side made an appeal to Lee Jae-hak after checking errors in the judgment on the second pitch through a tablet installed in the dugout after throwing the fifth pitch, but the judges refused to accept the claim, saying the statute of limitations has expired. Lee Min-ho, the chief referee, said to referee Moon Seung-hoon, "Say the voice was recognized as a ball. That is all we have to get out of." He attempted to cover up his misjudgment.

In the end, KBO was 'penalty-free' due to the severe punishment of contract termination and suspension for the maximum period.
