South Korean casino operator Paradise Co. said its casino sales rose 6.6% year-on-year and 42.7% year-on-year to more than 73.63 billion won last month.
On Wednesday, the company, which operates its gaming venues exclusively for foreigners, told the stock exchange that sales of game tables rose 6.0% month-on-month and 45.1% year-on-year to nearly 69.66 billion won in September.
TABLE DROP – The amount of cash exchanged for chips at the company's game table was 5290.1 billion won in September, down 15.1% from the previous month but up 8.1% from the same month a year earlier.
The company's monthly update does not provide a comment on the reasons for the earnings change.
The company said sales of its game console reached about 3.97 billion won in September, up 18.6% month-on-month and 10.7% year-on-year.
Paradise said casino sales rose 23.5% year-on-year to nearly 567.88 billion won in the first nine months of 2019. Game table sales rose 24.9% to 534.33 billion won during the period, while slot machine sales rose 4.9% to 33.55 billion won.
Paradise Co.'s figures are based on games played at four lodges: Walkerhill, Seoul; Jeju Grand (pictured); Busan Casino in the southern port city of Busan; and Paradise City in Incheon, which is close to the main international airport serving the capital city of Seoul. The latter game venue was promoted in collaboration with a department of Japanese entertainment giant Sega Sammy Holdings.
