Dallas, Boston Leads 2-1 in Round 2

The Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics of the U.S. National Basketball Association (NBA) won Game 3 of the second round of the conference, recording two wins and one loss overall. Luka Doncic and Jason Tatum, the ace pitchers of the team, paid for their names.

Dallas defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 105-101 in Game 3 of the second round of the 2024 NBA Western Conference Playoff (PO) at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Following the second round in the enemy territory, Dallas also grabbed its third home game, outpacing Oklahoma City, the top-ranked team in the regular league.

The two teams had a tight race until the first half, but Dallas finished with a three-point shot by PJ Washington and Kyrie Irving in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Irving dominated the game by adding eight points and three rebounds, including a left-handed layup. Oklahoma ace Shai Gilgers Alexander swallowed his disappointment as five of the six field throws cut through the air.

For Dallas, Doncic, who has recently been playing with injuries, showed off 22 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Irving posted 22 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

Oklahoma had ace Alexander's 31 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists, but it was disappointed by the failure of the attack in the fourth quarter. Chet Holmgren (13 points, 8 rebounds) and Jaylen Williams (16 points, 8 assists) fought hard.

On the same day, Boston defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 106-93 in Game 3 of the second round of the dongbu conference PO at Rockit Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. They also led the series 2-1 overall.

The Boston Red Sox had a 57-48 lead in the first half on the back of a high field goal percentage. Cleveland had a hard time narrowing the gap and ended up losing its head at its home ground.

Boston showed off its presence as ace Tatum bombarded 12 points in the first quarter alone. He became the top scorer with 33 points and 13 rebounds. Jaylen Brown, a one-two punch, had 28 points and nine rebounds to support the team.

On the other hand, Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell showed a 33-point performance, including seven three-point shots, but the team bowed its head amid the slump, missing an easy scoring chance.
